Driver

Site had re-centralised their maintenance function, resulting in all asset planning activities for site reporting to the one department. With this came a large amount of legacy issues, resulting from many years of areas utilising their own planning practices.

After a reasonable period of bedding in, the planning function was still unstable and not delivering as required. The lack of consistency between areas was causing significant frustration and rework, impacting sites productivity.

What we did

Facilitated targeted online survey to identify planning issues.

Conducted planning interface workshops to map out agreed and standardised processes.

Developed 'A3' maintenance planning guideline and associated work instructions.

Result

Embedded agreed planning process.

Gained site commitment to upskill staff as needed.

Implemented capability improvement plans for staff, linked to new planning roadmap.

Significantly improved standardised planning outputs.
